The new #CharityVan is about to launch! Drum roll please… with a fun-filled party at The Victory Services Club in London!
To say that we’re excited is an understatement! Blood, sweat and tears have gone into creating the #CharityVan. There have been highs and lows, as in most jouneys. However, the hard work has paid off. We now have a service we are proud of and are ready to launch!
So, on Thursday 4th October, our charity and corporate partners along with some loyal supporters are coming together to celebrate and shout about it from the roof tops!
If you haven’t heard about our new #CharityVan courier service yet, you can read more here.
Why are we so excited?
The short answer is that we truly believe the #CharityVan will transform the charity stock donation journey. No more lugging bags on buses, or struggling to find a parking space outside your nearest charity shop. If you have clothes, electrical items or small furniture to donate, we have a simple solution. The donor will be able to book a free collection, from the comfort of their home and have it delivered to a charity of their choice.
For our partnering charities, we can provide a technology-led solution which focuses on the donor experience. It should increase the quantity and quality of stock to each charity. The tablet-based technology has automatic Gift Aid signup, stock tracking systems and the ability to monitor live traffic and route planning. Along with detailed reporting and no van overheads, we believe that our service will bring many benefits to the charity retail sector.
Why did we choose The Victory Services Club?
The Victory Services Club is a prestigious Military members club in the heart of London.
Our Managing Director, Mike Rayner is a former Army Officer with 25 years of military operations and logistics and a decade in the commercial sector. Mike saw first hand how difficult, despite a wealth of transferable skills, his ex-army colleagues found it to gain employment after leaving the Forces.
It was Mike’s idea to employ ex-service men and women as Van drivers and administration staff for Gone for Good. We look forward to seeing them make their debut, in our vans, on 22nd October 2018.
So, with Mike’s background and our van drivers’ previous occupations, The Victory Services Club seemed an apt venue to host our launch party.
Their delicious and varied menu of sustainable food only went to seal the deal.
After our launch party, there is still some work to do. In-store training will take place across all participating charity shops. Our van drivers will be put through their paces and inducted into their roles. From 15th October anyone living within the M25 will be able to download the app and book a collection. Collections will start on Monday 22nd October 2018.
Please follow us on social media and help us spread the word. We’ll be posting regular updates and news as we go.
Thank you to our Sponsors
We wouldn’t be having much of a party, if it weren’t for our sponsors, so our thanks goes out to:
Charity Fleetcare, OBS Logistics, Reason Digital, UKChanges, Turiss-UK, Arnold Clark and Brother.
